BJ's Wholesale Bans the Confederate Flag

At the BJ's warehouse in Jacksonville Florida Bobby Tillet has been banned from parking in the employee parking lot for displaying a Confederate Flag in the back of his truck. He now has to walk 10 minutes to work. He says "It's about heritage; it's about pride," Tillett said. "I don't look at it much different than the American flag. There's been a lot of blood spilled over that flag, too, and I love that flag, and I'll fly it 'till the day I die."

I say more power to you Mr. Tillet. Keep her flying we were on the right side of that war and this is still Dixie! Not to mention this violates the first Amendment which states clearly.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
"

So now there is a boycott on BJ's which I whole heartedly support. I am asking for you to call or email BJ's wholesale and tell them what you think of this attack on free speech. Just ask yourself what they would do if an employee had a Peurto Rican or Mexican flag on there truck.

  1. Jesus christ. The war was over 140 years ago. The north won. And do any of you understand what the confederate flag means? The confederacy stood for slavery and racism, the combination of the two must have killed 100,000 african americans in the past 200 years, if not more. unless you people understand the full extent of the meaning of the confederate flag, or consider yourselves racist slave-holders, i suggest you think twice about the meaning of "The Cause" and of that flag.

  2. The flag means what you want it to mean. I have a confederate flag and I am not a racist, nor do I own any slaves, nor have any of my ancestors. I hold the flag to represent things such as states rights and the determination and courage of any who would dare take a stand for what they believe in. Yes I would call myself a rebel. I certainly hope that that man continues to fly his flag where ever he sees fit. And I hope that not all people have their head so far up in their ass that they say that the only meaning the confederate flag has is slavery and racism. It is true that the Civil War was fought around 1860 and that one of the key issues that involved the session of some states was slavery. However, it is also true that more than 600,000 Americans died in that war! When ever I fly my confederate flag, not only am I being a rebel, but I am giving honor to both sides of the war and paying respect to all those who died and the countless others who were affected by that war. So if you still disagree with me, go and spread your shit somewhere else because you are not welcome here! May God Bless America and Long Live The Union!

This ignorant individual needs a history lesson. The South didn't stand for racism, or slavery. The civil war was over land and money. Lincoln cared nothing about slaves and just used them as his legimate reason for attacking the south and stealing land. Kinda like whats happening in iraq. thats a republican for ya' I don't think you underdstand anything. The whole slave issue was just a smokescreen the real reason for the war was money, like all wars. If the governemnt cared so much why did it take so long for blacks to get civil rights? Think about it. "anonymous"

  4. The meaning of the flag has changed durning time, it pretty much means that you are from the south and that you are proud of it or it means that your a rebel, its unfair how gays are aloud to show their pride but yet we from the south are not allowed to show our pride!!!!

  5. Well I'm glad there are still some people out there who get it!

  6. Anyone who thinks the flag stands for Racism is just ignorant. I just hope one day people will become educated enough one day to realize who was on the right side of the war, and maybe, just maybe, we will all rally under its bars again to resist the corrupt and fascist government we are now forced to accept. Long live the Union, long live the Constitution, and long live the Confederacy!

  7. It is his right to proudly display his Confederate flag in any way, shape, or form he wishes. I feel his Constitutional rights have been infringed upon.

All displaying a Confederate Flag denotes is perhaps this person is a loser. The South lost the war, genius. Therefore to display the flag of a loser as your "culture and heritage" denotes your inclusion as a loser.

I only wish that more people of American black descent would more violently oppose the display of such flags as the Jews do the swastika and the public display of the Confederate "heroes" such as John C. Calhoun and Jefferson Davis in public places where the more civilize trod.

  9. The Confederate Flag is a symbol of christianity and the pure cause of the south to be a free people and choose their own destiny. The North was moving farther and farther away from the christianity that the Puritan Fathers taught. The South felt a need to distinguish themselves as a christian nation so they created the Confederate Battle Flag or otherwise known as the Southern Cross. The diagonal x has long been a symbol of Christ and is used by many European nations. Christ's name began with the letter "x" in the Greek language. The Civil War was not about slavery it was about taking away the rights of a free people and then covering their treason with slavery.

  10. you guys are FUCKING DUMB the confederate flag has nothing to do. the north was trying to take taxes from the confederate states so they tried to withdraw from the union, when they did so Lincoln sent in soldiers and the confederate states were forced by gun point back into the union. YALL NEED A HISTORY LESSON.

all who say that the south lost the war are CORRECT. however, statistcally, we lost the war because we were out numbered six to one. off the top of my head, i can only think of two people who could do conquer with those odds. one is alexander the great, and we all know he would have fought the north. the other, is general stonewall jackson, a confederate. some even speculate that the south could have won the war had he not been wounded and eventually, died, to friendly fire. the south had superior officers, discipline, and marksmanship. anyone who thinks differently can read up on it, or challenge me to a marksmanship contest, I DARE YA ya fuckin' yankee.

  13. Actually, anyone who believes that the Civil War was about slavery is sadly mistaken. The war began because the Southern states were being oppressed by the Northern Government. This a quote from Abraham Lincoln "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union." The Confederate flag has been abused by racist groups. The flag is a symbol of rebels, patriots, trying to free themselves from an oppresive government, much like the colonists did from Great Britian. So for those racists who abuse our flag, you can find your own flag to display your beliefs and do not desecrate mine.

  14. It shouldn't matter a hill of shit whether someone wants to put a statue of the Virgin Mary, a bumper sticker that says "F*** You, I'm From Texas!" or a Confederate Flag on THEIR OWN car...They bought and paid for it, they should be able to do what they want with it.
Up here in Indiana, some guy got thrown in jail and fined a c-note a day for putting a neon sign in the window of his business that said "Jesus Loves You" or something like that...WTH is this country coming to?
A pretty quick and nasty end, if you ask me!

  15. Fly your flag till the day you die...

Other ppl from other nations are allowed to fly it freely, but yet we get treated as racists...

Even if the government tryed to make it illegal i would fly it for ever...

Quiet franly, id say quit, and find a new job that respects your beliefs, and where your from, and who u support.

"Flying the confederate flag till the day i die"
